As you know, people are at different stages in their journey with Jesus. Some are brand new to the faith while others are further along. For that reason, we have provided a Discipleship Scale in an attempt to indicate the depth of each study. You will find that rating below each study title.
We hope this helps you!
Example of a New Christian: A person who has recently followed Jesus as Lord. This person does not know much about Jesus, the Bible, the Church, personal gifts, etc.
Example of a Mature Christian: A person who knows Jesus, prays regularly, gives of his/her gifts, invests in others, etc.
Manhood Restored, by Eric Mason
The earthly crisis within manhood will be there until Jesus returns, but in Christ men are pointed toward the gospel as the vision for renewal. Manhood Restored by exciting new pastoral voice Eric Mason combines theological depth with practical insights, putting men in step with a gospel-centered manhood that will enrich every facet of their lives.
Mason begins with The Scope of Manhood -- looking first at why God created man, at the divine differences between man and woman, and what should drive the purpose of a man during his time on earth.
A section on The Problems in Manhood analyzes the false icons that lead to cultural caricatures of men -- the businessman, the thug, the playboy, the athlete, etc. Mason then makes a connection to the cross-cultural fatherhood crisis, looking at the things men do to fill the void when their relationship with dad or God is not there.
Finally, The Redemption of Manhood sets Jesus as the true standard of biblical manhood, looking to his perfect example to redeem and restore a man's life in the areas of sexuality, home, and work.
Kingdom Man, by Tony Evans
"A kingdom man is the kind of man that when his feet hit the floor each morning the devil says, 'Oh crap, he's up!'"
So begins this powerful volume from Dr. Tony Evans, now in softcover. Tony believes that God wants every man to be a world-changer. He skillfully takes readers along a journey through the principles of biblical manhood, exploring how those who live, work, and minister around a kingdom man benefit from his leadership and care. Men will be challenged to fully understand their position under God as well as their position over what God has given them. Equipped with these concepts, they can actively pursue ways to maximize and develop the character qualities of biblical manhood in their lives. As Tony contends, the enemy doesn't want you to know it, but you're not the man you think you are. You're a whole lot more. Starting now, you can be a kingdom man.
